Beginning at the “Giglachlakes” [Giglachseen], this well-marked, high alpine path passes through the impressive landscape surrounding the Hochwurzen Lodge and Chalet - where at the end of the day, you will find, it is wise to sit down, take a break and dig into some hearty food!
Recommended Route: Beginning at the Giglach Lakes [Giglachseen] continue north uphill to the Bretter Lakes [Bretterseen] and further along a slightly uphill path in the direction of Schiedeck. Here you can either climb to the top of the mountain or continue along the path climbing and descending Hochfeld, Schneider, Guschen, Roßfeld and finally to Hochwurzen.
Walking time: starting on top of Hochwurzen 5 - 6 Hours
Good hiking boots and appropriate hiking clothing recommended - mountainous path.
