Hochwurzen is the ideal mountain for skiing, snowboarding and sledding and also a prime launching-site for paragliders and hang-gliders. It is part of the Dachstein-Tauern ski area which spans 4 mountains and is a great base for hiking both in the summer and the winter. Both during the day and at night! There are night sledding routes and the lift continues to operate after dark with night lighting on the slopes. Hochwurzen is the perfect place to take a break, relax and enjoy the magnificent view.
We have four different locations: Grab a bite to eat or have a drink at either the Hochwurzen Ski Lodge or the Hochwurzen Chalet, stay overnight at the Pension Hochwurzen or NEW! the Hochwurzen Apartments!
Beginning point and final destination for skiers, both back country and on the slopes, sledders, hikers and travellers.
